Do you know how to add a thumbnail to the recent post widget like here:

Also, I can't seem to figure out how to create a featured post. Can anyone possibly lead me in the right direction? Thanks in advance!

To create a featured post, you mark it as a sticky.

Featured post excerpts can include a thumbnail if you set a featured image to them.

The wp.COM version of the Recent Posts widget cannot include thumbnails. The only wp.com theme that can display recent posts with thumbnails is Bueno - see here:

I cannot view what's at that link. However, I can tell you that if you are referring to a free blog from and being free hosted by wordpress.COM you cannot add anything at all to the Recent Posts widget.

Does someone else know how to set up Update?
I tried it once, then full sentences of Update appear now...I wanna just show a few sentences in Update on Home Page though...
To limit the length of Updates you use the read-more tag.
