The page is unable to publish the video when I paste the url for the video!

  1. Unable to embed video
    Blog url: http://futures4youth.wordpress.com/

  2. What video? Where are you trying to embed it from?

  3. I am trying to embed a video from someone's blog who offered to embed their video. So I cut and pasted the insert and my blog dashboard is not allowing it to be "fetched", it just goes blank. I also changed from Chrome to Explorer which is sometimes helpful but am having the same trouble. There is enough MB as I paid for the year subscription to embed the videos.
    Any suggestions?

If you are embedding a video from someone else's site, you do not need to pay to embed. That would be like paying to embed from YouTube. You do need to pay for the VideoPress upgrade in order to *upload* videos to your WordPress.com website.

Here's the current list of sites from which WordPress.com allows embeds http://en.support.wordpress.com/videos/

If the site you are trying to embed from doesn't appear on that list, you can try entering the full URL of the video in the "From URL" tab of the Image Uploader from the Upload/Insert Media button in your Post Editor. You'll notice that on that tab there are two choices: "Image" or "Audio, Video, or Other File." When you enter the full URL in the top line, if the linking is successful, a green check mark will appear next to it. If you get the red x instead, it means it cannot be embedded.

  5. Of course, if you do have the VideoPress upgrade, you could simply download the video from that person's site and then upload it and insert it in your post.

Here's the Support Doc on using VideoPress

  6. Also, please note that the VideoPress upgrade does not give you more storage space (MB or GB). It only gives you the ability to upload videos to your WordPress.com site.

If you need more space beyond the 3GB we all receive, you'll need to purchase a Space Upgrade in addition to the VideoPress upgrade. http://en.support.wordpress.com/space-upgrade/
