And if your code disappears when you put it in a widget then it could be javascript (which is not permitted) or the use of tags (we only allow these)
Could you also change the FAQ for tags to also state that the tags do NOT work in the widget 'Title' field as they are stripped out as well? I remember trying to add in h2 & h3 tags to a widget title and they do not work. I am not sure if they are all stripped out as I have not tried every one of them. Could reduce some confusion there as well.

I could have sworn that they did. They used to work in the post titles as well.
Most themes (#?) default to the h2 tags for widget titles, but i was trying to make some strong, h3, and a couple others I don't remember...they keep getting stripped out of the widget's title field (this is on blogs without the css upgrade)
