  1. Hello, I purchased a theme for my wordpress.com site. I would like to use that same theme on wordpress.org instead. How can I do that? Also, can I cancel my wordpress .com site and only use wordpress.org? Help please!

The blog I need help with is eatlotseatwelldotcom.wordpress.com.

  2. WordPress.com and WordPress.org are completely separate and have different logins, features and run different versions of some themes with the same names http://support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/

When you purchase a premium theme, it is available for the lifetime of that blog while it is hosted here by WordPress.com.

Note: Premium Themes that are licensed for WordPress.com use only cannot be transferred to self-hosted WordPress.org sites. Some Automattic-developed premium themes can be transferred to a self-hosted site at no charge, as part of a Guided Transfer. Please post in the premium theme forums if you’d like to know whether your theme qualifies.

  3. To move your content you need to create an XML export file of your content. It will not include the theme as they cannot be exported. See 3 below. Also note that if you have purchased a premium theme you will have to contact the theme designer directly and request a wordpress.org version of it.

WordPress.com and WordPress.org are completely separate.

  6. can I cancel my wordpress.com account and get a refund for that theme?

  7. Yes you can get a refund. Provided you are logged in under the same username account that purchased the upgrades, you ought to be able to request a refund from your dashboard > Store > My Upgrades

WordPress.com provides a 30-day refund on all upgrades except Domain Registrations, Domain Renewals, and Guided Transfers.

Note: It takes from 1 - 2 weeks for the refund to be received.
