Theme Issues? Vigilance

  1. I have been using Vigilance as a theme for my primary blog for over two years now and have only had one other time where there seemed to be a slight glitch but it was soon corrected (if I recall, the problem was with many themes wordpress-wide).

In the past week or two, regardless of the browser I use to open my blog, or what computer I use for that matter, the font is always bold on the home page. It is fine when I open the individual post, however.

I have also noticed that often I open a page and text that should be filled in a box, such as the Alert Message in the Theme Option, or Text Widgets for the widgets page, are nearly always empty now. On one occasion in the past two weeks was there text in a box that it should have been in. I switched to WordPress.com from building my own site so that I would have to keep templates. Is this just a theme glitch or is this something happening WordPress-wide?

    Thank you.

The blog I need help with is justificationbygrace.com.

  2. Typically this is caused by an open HTML tag in one of your posts or in a text widget. Most commonly it's caused by copying and pasting text from elsewhere without using the Paste from WORD or paste from text icon in the Visual editor Row 2 icon 5 or 6.

Go to Settings > Writing and select “ ___ WordPress should correct invalidly nested XHTML automatically” and then scroll down and click “Save Changes.”

Now, starting with your latest post, open it in the editor, make one minor change such as adding a space and then deleting it, and then click “Update Post.” Check your blog and see if it is back to normal.

If it’s not, then look for an open HTML tag and close it. Check your blog again and see if it is back to normal. If it’s still “messed up” then open the next post and do the same thing post by post until it goes back to normal.

If you have been copying and pasting text from elsewhere without using either icon 5 or icon 6 in Row 2 of the visual editor, please see here so you know how to do this correctly in the future. http://en.support.wordpress.com/visual-editor/#pasting-text

Best wishes with your blog. :)
