Theme with clear background available?

    Hello friends
    I’m searching for a theme with a clear background. The ones I found are all having an opal plate, which makes all colors behind them look dark and the writing is almost invisible. Or is there a way to take this opal-plate away? Thanks

    If you have the annually renewable CSS upgrade you can change the opacity.

    Thanks I just found one called sandbox, which seems to be clear, but I can not see to find were to change the sidebar to the right, or is this only if I have CSS that I can use left/right, one, 2 or more sidebars?

    Every free theme is different. Some without the purchase of an annually renewable CSS upgrade and doing the CSS editing yourself do have the options of choosing different layouts and sidebar placements and some do not. The Sandbox theme is to be used as a theme structure for those who can create CSS skins with the CSS upgrade.

    If you have CSS editing experience, you can get the paid custom CSS upgrade and renew it annually. It will allow you to stylize the appearance of themes you find here > Appearance > Themes, but it does not allow you to change the functionality, by editing the underlying template. It does not allow you to remove footer links to the theme designer or to wordpress.com. Also note that CSS is theme specific, so you cannot use the CSS stylesheets from other themes with the themes here at wordpress.COM.

    Since there is no official Staff support for the CSS upgrade, and precious little Volunteer support, I recommend that you don’t buy the upgrade unless you have at least moderate understanding of HTML and CSS because you must be prepared to do the work on your own.

    If you are considering purchasing the upgrade, you can go to Appearance > Edit CSS. There wordpress has provided a preview function where you can try before you buy.

    Thanks timethief. You are a star!
    Since I do not have any CSS experience and not a lot of PC knowledge either, I guess I have to play around with what is there and easy to use, and create backgrounds to match. I would have preferred the bar on the right side, since I’m right-handed.

    I use a theme that can have the sidebar on either the right or left hand side and there are others like it too. But I cannot upload a background and I not aware of which themes have that feature plus a clear background. Have a nice day right back at you. :)

    I solved the problem and start using MOTION in this particular blog, which has a opal plate behind the sidebars only, but not as dark. But most important, the writing is in white. Hence I have no problem reading it. Thanks for your time dear..God bless
