Theme with text area???

  1. I am new to WordPress and can't determine if I can have a blog theme with a text area at the top of the page. This seems like it should be possible, but I can't figure it out. Could someone please help me with it? Thanks.

I need this so I can use a paragraph to describe the purpose of the theme, guidelines for contributors, etc. I would want the Blog to start under this, but need to have the "description" paragraph stay at the top of the page.

    Thanks for your help.

  2. If you choose a theme with a customizable header you can the use Paint Shop or Photo Shop or a similar program to create your own header including text which you can then up load as an image. In that case it's important that the image you create is sized to suit the space which varies in different themes. You can use the FAQs search box to find the specific sizes for all the themes. For the Kubrik theme you have 760 pixels x 200 pixels to work with.

  3. I think the poster is asking about a space where they can display information about their blog. Sort of like the sticky post I made on my blog when I had the laptop collection.

Best bet would be to include a Text Widget with your needed information in your blog's sidebar.

Another solution would be to create a static front page for the front of your blog and a blank Page for your posts. We discuss this method here.

    Hope this helps,
