I purchased a theme (Watson) this aftrenoon and now realize the format (single column text for navigation pages) will not work well for what I need. I have viewed the other templates and Linen will work much better.
Is it possible to switch from Watson to Linen theme without having to purchase the new template?
Please advise.

You can apply for a refund and then purchase Linen instead.
WordPress.com provides a 30-day refund on all upgrades except Domain Registrations, Domain Renewals, and Guided Transfers.
Provided you are logged in under the same username account that purchased the upgrades, you can request a refund yourself directly from the Store section of your Dashboard
