Third party email

  1. I am mapping my domain name to my WordPress blog but I've broken my email. I have updated my DNS records to read:

    MX 0 mail1.ariadne.org.
    A mail 198.46.88.116

    According to Network Solutions the email is circling back to ariadne.org, not to the IP address, which it has to point for email to work. Can someone tell me exactly what this code should be?

    The blog I need help with is ariadne.org.

  3. I went from that one to http://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/add-email/add-other-email/. There is more code in that example but I wrote what Network Solutions said they thought would work. But it doesn't.

  5. How long has it been since the MX & A records were updated? It can take 24 to 72 hours for domain mapping changes to update across the internet. I would think that changes for email would be the same, with erratic operation until the changes reach the far corners of the internet

  6. It has now been 70 1/2 hours. I have received maybe half a dozen spams in all that time. I received a test message I sent to myself but test messages from other people do not arrive. Does anyone know how to solve this mystery, please?

  7. Also, if this cannot be done in WordPress, I need to know it soon. I've gone for almost two weeks with very erratic or no email and I am trying to do a new promotion for a business. If I can't solve the problem with WordPress, will someone just please tell me that and I will abandon WordPress for another solution.

  10. I have new information. Evidently I can send email but not receive it. Does this help?

  11. I am not getting any response at all from staff - maybe because it is the weekend. I've been talking to my ISP and they think they see the problem but neither they nor I can make the change required. Does anyone know how I can get to a person who can do this?
