title is deleted when i try to post it

until a month ago, vertigo was working well. suddenly, it would not include the title in the post. for me, the title becomes the caption for the cartoon i post. the only way i can get it to work is to post the title on my ipad. then edit that blog entry with my macbook by inserting the photo of the cartoon drawing. this happens when using chrome and safari. and when using the ipad only, it deletes the title when the photo is included.

how can i get back to having the post i submit be published as submitted the first time? it is unreasonable to have to use two computers to post one blog entry.

The blog I need help with is chasingthewildgoose.wordpress.com.

  3. Hi there,

I'm sorry that it took us so long to respond to your question.
I could not recreate the issues you mentioned above. Does the error still occur for you?

Yes. I have to post the title sentence on my iPad and then rush to my MacBook and edit/post the photo. I keep testing to see if I can do it as in the past...only using the MacBook. But I cannot. Very disappointing.

i tried it yet again. on my macbook, i am enter a title and it will appear...but only if the photo is not posted, also. it will not post both.

  6. Hi itsrainingpopsicles,

I was able to pin down what happens:
When there is only an image in the post content, WordPress automatically assigns the Image Post Format to the post. Image Post Formats are displayed differently from the rest of the content in Vertigo, they receive a frame and the post title does not get displayed among other things.

There are a few ways you can deal with that:

    • Add the post title also as an image caption in the media upload dialog
    • Re-assign the standard post format and update the post
    • Add some text to the post, to prevent it from happening

As a last resort you could also look into switching to a theme that either does not support the Image Post Format or displays it in a more suitable way.

I'm sorry that I don't have better news.
