Title of blog doesn't display properly to others.

  1. Hi. The name of my blog is http://www.FLAVORSMACK.com and it displays properly on my laptop and my smartphone. The title, however, splits and spills onto a second line (like cell wrapping in Excel), on my iPad, and friends have commented the same thing when they view it on their computers. Is the font size too big? If it is ok on my computer, why not on someone else's?

  2. Hi there, I see what you mean. I will bring this to the attention of the theme developer and keep you posted.

  3. Great thank you!

  4. Hi there,

Our developers have tried to come up with a solution to this issue, but unfortunately, there is nothing flexible enough they can do to make it work on your site, yet not break others using the same theme.

But here is a quick suggestions on how to achieve a solution for your blog: to do exactly what you want to do (keep the title yet have it not wrap), you could use CSS through the Custom Design upgrade I see you already have active on your site: https://flavorsmackdotcom.wordpress.com/wp-admin/themes.php?page=editcss

Something like (where 18 is the font size, increase or decrease the size as needed):
    .site-title, .site-title a {<br /> font-size: 18pt;<br /> }<br />
    Hope this helps.

  5. Ok thanks. I will try the CSS and see what happens. I know nothing about CSS so I am assuming I just type exactly what you have written and it will work?

  6. That's correct!

You want to be sure to include that closing curly brace (the } mark) and the starting period before "site-title"

You can copy and paste it, too, if that's easier for you. Spaces are very important to CSS as well, so you may be better off copying and pasting, actually, if you run into any issues.

    good luck!

  7. Ok thanks for your help. I did end up cutting and pasting.
I see that it made it smaller when viewing it on the iPad horizontally or vertically which is good. But I actually had to change it to 14 do have it come out all one word. Now it is too tiny on a regular computer screen. Maybe I have to change themes...or do a custom logo? It works out fine on my mobile phone - changes it to a mobile version...why can't the iPad adapt?

  8. The iPad is a lone wolf. Lots of things that work fine on the iPhone look...off on the iPad - not just with our platform, either. Such a great tool, but very specific integration needs :)

I checked your site on my computer, and the name looks good to me! It's clearly the site title. I know it's personal preference, though.

Let me know if you need me to help you with anything else regarding this.
