top clicks widget

  1. Hi, I have a question about the "top clicks" widget. Can a person comment and have their site show up on the top clicks before their comment is approved?
    Thank you =)

The blog I need help with is jayme2.wordpress.com.

  2. Hi jayme2
This is what I know. WordPress.com stats are "page views". See here > http://en.support.wordpress.com/stats/ Top Clicks widget > See here > http://en.support.wordpress.com/widgets/top-clicks-widget/

Top clicks take awhile to update. They lag behind because they are calculated over a 48 - 72 hours.

  3. Hi Timethief,

Thank you for the response and links.

It says "The top clicks widget displays the links that visitors clicked most often while viewing your blog."

I dont understand how could a link in a comment left on my blog could show up on "top clicks" before it was approved? I was just wondering if that is normal? I thought they had to be visible first.

    Thanks again =)

  4. Sorry but I don't have an answer > http://en.support.wordpress.com/contact/

  5. I mean, .....I dont understand how a link...

  6. Ok Thanks. I'll try there =)

  7. I don't think a link in a comment which is not approved should show up in top clicks widget. Even if we assume that you clicked on the links multiple times yourself, it still doesn't justify showing up in Top Clicks because blogger's tracks are not counted towards the stats. I'd say the theme you're using has a glitch so you should check with the support directly when they resume.
