Top Level Entry

  1. Is there a way to keep a particular entry potitioned at the top as a welcome post?

  2. Only method is to keep changing the time and date on teh post. There's not method currently to mark a single post as being the top post. You can with regular wordpress but not with the setup we have here.

    Hope this helps,

    Hi there. I'm wondering if this option wouldn't be worth 4everblu's consideration. Copying the contents of this "welcoming" post that 4everblu wants all readers to see first into a page and then re-assigning that page as a "front page".
    ->dashboard -> options -> reading -> frontpage

  4. Dr. Mike, I think I am in trouble then.

    I have 2 WP blogs here, and 2 regular WP blogs identical in content, but ovbiously they reside on my domain server.

    It is these customizable blogs I wish to modify, as the wordpress.com blogs just do not have the same types of flexibility (namely CSS) that are afforded me at my domain.

    So, the question is one of the standard downloadable WP. Can that version (2.05) be modified in such a way?

    Timechief, your idea is brilliant, insofar as it works with my free WP blogs. But sadly, frontpage is not an option on the standard downloadable version of WP.

    You'll need to go to the other forum to get instructions for changing this on your self-hosted blogs http://wordpress.org/support

  6. That's a couple of plugins that will do it but discussion of those are really outside of what these here forums are for. The one I use is not longer available for download or I would link to it. You may want to look at the Plugin list over at the codex though.
