Total and daily likes

  1. Sometimes I get the notification for "the best day for likes",like today but I'm not personally able to check that. How can I check my total likes and daily likes? Please help.

The blog I need help with is processingthelife.wordpress.com.

  2. Be aware that our stats are not real time stats. For details see here http://en.support.wordpress.com/stats/ Note the views and viewers take hours to update.

Moreover, those who follow your blog in the Reader or by email don't have to click into the blog unless they wish to. Likes, follows, shares and reblogs are not page views. In fact, likes, shares and reblogs are completely misleading when you are talking about page view stats. Your followers and anyone with a WordPress.com blog who is logged into WordPress.com can "like", "share" and "reblog" your posts in several locations such as the Reader, without ever clicking into your blog and creating a single page view stat.

You can control the length of the entry sent out on your RSS feed here > Settings > Reading. Choose the "summary" setting for your RSS feed rather than to "full text". That will compel followers who are not using mobiles to click into the blog to read the full post which will create a page view stat.

Visitors using a mobile can read the full post without creating a page view stat. http://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/wordpresscom-reader-show-full-text?replies=31#post-1373606

Note that setting the RSS Feed to summary does not affect the length of the post displayed on the front page or main page for posts on the blog. To create excerpts there we can split content by inserting "the more tag" http://en.support.wordpress.com/splitting-content/more-tag/

Also note that you can disable "Sharing" on the same page:
    Settings > Reading
Add to each article in your feed:
    Categories
    Tags
    Comment count
    Sharing
Changes may not appear until you create a new post or your news reader refreshes.

  3. Hi Timethief, thanks for the reply. I've read these posts and many of the posts in your blog as well.

I want help regarding checking my total and daily likes. Can we check how many likes do we have like we check our page views, visitors and comments. It doesn't matter if it's not real time.

  4. Any information about this?

  5. What you are asking for does not exist. As I stated above likes are not page views. All I can find is found here http://wordpress.com/trophy-case scroll donw and lick "likes" for more.

To be honest I place very little value on likes because I'm aware of the numerous like button spammers who click to suck our readers into following them. So the bottom line for me is that as I cannot control the like button spammers the number of likes on my posts and pages have no integrity. Therefore as none of us can have any confidence in the numbers of likes and for that matter followers, I would not cry a river if the like button was eliminated from our blogs. 6. I have eye strain and apologize for this error above:
I meant to type "scroll down and click".

  7. I already know about the trophy case. There is a tab in the reader section which nobody can miss. You can have spam for anything and at anyplace. We have spam comments that doesn't mean we remove the function of comments but we have methods to control these spams.

It's a totally subjective thing that you have written, you may be having lots of spammers liking your posts but it doesn't mean everybody is having it.

Though I understand that since there isn't any way possible, you can't help me out here. Thanks for all the help and information. :)

  8. You're welcome.
