   @quantumcrypto-If your blog is on WordPress.com and you link to another WordPress.com blog in your post, the trackback is automatically sent.

   From the Trackback Module in your Post Editor, "Trackbacks are a way to notify legacy blog systems that you’ve linked to them. If you link other WordPress blogs they’ll be notified automatically using pingbacks, no other action necessary." (emphasis mine)

   I have a IBM blog, and I wanna send trackback to a friend's wordpress.com blog post. However I don't know what trackback URL to use.

   The IBM blog is not a wordpress blog.

   Click on the title of their blog post and that will give you a URL for just that post.

   If you link to their blog in a post or page, their blog will automatically be pinged by wordpress if they have theirs set up to accept pings. Trackbacks are for "old" legacy blogging systems.

    If you don't want to link, it can be found when you go into a post, or for wordpress at
    http://the_blog_name.wordpress.com/the_year/the_month/the_day/the_post_name/trackback

    That is exactly what I was looking for. I knew about the auto-ping using links, but I needed a explicit trackback URL, which you provided.

    If you're looking at the specific post, the URL is in your browser bar as you will see. Just copy and paste from there to eliminate any typos.

    you have to add a /trackback at the end.
