I don't like the lack of customization options available with Mixfolio, even after I purchased the Custom Design package. If I used the Gridspace theme, does the Custom Design package transfer for the site?

The blog I need help with is aileeandsasha.com.
The upgrades here are generally per site and per year. If you change to a different theme on the same site, it won't affect the Custom Design upgrade. It stays with the site.
Premium themes like Gridspace are a one-time purchase for the life of the site on WordPress.com.
