Transfer Followers to a Self-Hosted Blog

  1. Hello there,

I just recently switched to a self-hosted WordPress.org blog at the URL http://lifesarunner.com

I've been looking around the forums and have seen that it is possible to have a staff member transfer the followers over from my WordPress.com blog. How would I go about having that happen?

The blog I need help with is lifesarunner.wordpress.com.

  2. Install and activate the JetPack plugin please. Staff can do this for you. I tagged this thread for their assistance. Please subscribe to it so you are notified when they respond.

  3. Thanks for your help - done and done!

  4. You're welcome. Please be patient while waiting.

  5. Your subscribers and followers have been transferred as requested.

Please note that any WordPress.com followers who opted to receive email updates will need to re-subscribe again on your new site through the Jetpack signup box, otherwise they'll only see new posts in their Reader. Non-WordPress.com email subscribers will continue to get email updates.

You might thing about setting up a Site Redirect for your WordPress.com site at lifesarunner.wordpress.com to send your site visitors to your new domain. Otherwise, people will still be able to subscribe on your old site.

  6. Thank you! I was just wondering, though, it still says I have 0 followers on my WordPress.org account. Why might that be?

  7. Hi there,

Looks like the migration didn't go through the first time. I've submitted another request and it appears to have processed correctly. You should be able to see your followers now if you refresh your site stats.
