I want to transfer one WordPress.com blog to another WordPress.com blog. I understand the process but what I couldn't find information on is if the likes and followers would transfer as well for that particular blog. If they don't automatically transfer is there a way that can be done?
I currently have several blogs under one username and just want to transfer only one of them.
The blog I need help with is ashortaday.wordpress.com.
Transferring content amounts to creating an export file and importing it.
1. Log into the old blog, go to Tools → Export, and download the XML (WXR) file to your computer.
2. In the new blog, go to Tools → Import → WordPress, and upload the file you downloaded in step 1. After you upload the file, you can choose the option to Download & import file attachments if you want to move your media files.
Likes are on individual posts and followers follow specific blogs by their URLs. If you move content to another blog with another URL then I'm not clear if likes and the followers can be transferred so I have flagged this thread for a Staff response.
