   Hello,

   I currently have a blog through WP.com which I paid the $17 annually so I can use my own domain rather than http://www.jocelynwilhelm.wordpress.com, it's http://www.jocelynwilhelm.com. My year is up and I want to transfer it so I can own my own domain and host it myself and make changes to the blog, template, etc. I would like to keep the content as well.

   Can someone please tell me how I can go about making all the necessary changes without losing the content?

   PS: I would still keep the blog within WP, maybe through WP.org though.

   This should help a bit -

   http://en.support.wordpress.com/moving-a-blog/#moving-to-wordpress-org

   You can do it yourself, get a host, install WordPress.ORG software then export from here and import to your new site.

   You can keep the domain registered here and just change where the name servers to point to your new host.
