I follow the instructions as closely as possible. however, i continue to get this error message:
"To complete this transfer, we need approval of the administrative contact for this domain name. However, the administrative email address obtained from your current registrar is invalid, or could not be obtained."
I have followed the instructions to the letter about 5 times, but still cannot find where to change my administrative email. Can you help?

You can change the administrator email via the Domain Manager panel, which is where you retrieved your authentication code for the transfer: http://en.support.wordpress.com/domain-mapping/domain-management/
I have done that now 6 times, and am looking at the domain information page. Where in the Authentic Domain Manager - Domain Details is my password information? The Contact icon is ghosted, my domain is already unlocked....
You can reset your domain manager password via Store -> Domains in your blog's Dashboard. There is no location to change it in the main domain manager panel.
I'm sorry. From Store -> Domains, neither Manage Domain Subscriptions or Edit DNS offer a chance to edit the password. I cannot find any link, button, or portal that takes me to a place that allows me to edit my password information.
What do I do once I get to the domains page?
There will be a drop-down menu towards the bottom where you can select "Make Changes to the DNS."

Ah, the problem appears to be that you have Private Registration enabled. This will block the transfer.
