transferring my free theme from .com to .org

    Hi,
    I'm planning an a few days to go from WP.com to WP.org, probably to HostGator.
    So my questions are...
    1. Will my free theme (that I like a lot) work on .org too?
    2. Do I understand correctly that after the migration, I will have to manually reload my theme?

    1) No. .org themes are independent of .com themes. Yours may be available for .org: google and see if it is.

    2) see above. You're responsible for installing the theme and keeping it updated.
