Transferring one blog to another

  1. I have two blogs on WP, and I'd like to consolidate them down to one, and whenever someone types in the url and/or accesses the one blog from a bookmark, have it redirect to the one consolidated blog. Is there a way to do this, or should I just put a final post up on the one site leading everyone to the other blog?

The blog I need help with is mymindonlife.com.

  2. Hi there,
There are four options for you to consider.

    1. http://en.support.wordpress.com/changing-blog-address/

    2. http://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/

    3. You can create a custom menu and include a custom link to the other blog in it.

    4. You can export content from one blog out and import it into the other blog. http://en.support.wordpress.com/moving-a-blog/

  3. Thanks. I keep noticing a site redirect upgrade on the various posts you linked to, would that be an option for me as well?

  4. Have you purchased a domain name? Are you moving your content?

Are you leaving WordPress.com? Would you like to redirect yourblogname.wordpress.com (as well as all of your permalinks) to your new domain name? Have you recently changed your blog address and need to redirect traffic to the new name? The Site Redirect upgrade lets you do just that — and managing the redirect couldn’t be easier. http://en.support.wordpress.com/site-redirect/

  5. Its still on wordpress.com, I just paid for the domain name and mapping upgrade so it doesn't have the blogname.wordpress.com format.
