Tried to add a widget from widgetbox

  1. OK, don't laugh, but I really wanted to add a widget to The Daily Puppy (honest - it's here http://dailypuppy.com/index.php?itemid=832 ). On their site, they have instructions but when I configured the widget, all I got was the text in my sidebar but no link. Advice? Thanks, Susan

here is the text that is supposed to go in the box:
    <script type="text/javascript" src="http://widgetserver.com/syndication/subscriber/InsertPanel.js?panelId=f21d5f7e-3e2a-4753-b441-4ce3ea0b5820"></script>

  2. Thank you for providing the code. It's a help. :)

Afraid not. User inputted scripts are stripped from all user input due to security concerns. The FAQ blog lists a couple of links explaining what happens with uncontrolled javascripts and I posted an article on how spammers can use them as well.

    Sorry,
    -drmike

  3. ME TOO I WANT TO PUT A WIDGETBOX WIDGET ON THE SIDEBAR BUT IT ONLY APPEARED AS "Get your own widget at Widgetbox.com" I REALLY WANT TO PUT THAT WIDGET ON.... Visit jelly829.wordpress.com

  4. please do not use all caps when posting in the forums, it can be considered as impolite by some people. also, please read drmike's reply to the op, it would answer your query.

  5. Wouldn't it be great if there was a "trusted widget broker" for WordPress.com? For example, you could go to honestandrewswidgets.com, choose and configure the widget you wanted, and get a uri. Then you could use the following code at wp.com:
    [honestandrewswidgets uri]
This has probably already occurred to many people quicker on the uptake and/or more interested in widgets than me...

  6. yeah andrew i think that would be a GREAT (or should i say... great) idea! i think wordpress should make widgetbox a trusted web...
