Trouble adding another wordpress contributor Part 2

  1. I have been trying to add another wordpress blogger as an administrator to my site. They signed up a few days ago to wordpress. I followed all the steps and keep gettting the message that their email address was not found... although they do have a wordpress blog up and running. We checked the email address they signed up a number of times to ensure that it was spelled correctly. When they signed up, they also didn't receive a confirmation email either. Should they have? They then tried adding me as an administrator to their blog page and they got the same message that my email address wasn't found.

Is there some technical problem with the site? I see that tech support is temporarily down.

  2. There is no general problem with adding users. Most likely the email address you've been given is incorrect. It's possible the person you're adding believes they have a WordPress.com account when they actually have a self-hosted WordPress.org blog.

  3. along the same lines, what's the diff btwn Author, Admin, Editor, Contributor ?

    thx,
    sg

  4. The different roles are explained here:

Please be very careful when adding editors or administrators, as they can damage your blog.
