I use wordpress as a progress report on my research in chemical physics. it works very well, especially thanks to LaTeX.
however, i ran into a problem. My posts are sometimes long and informative.
is there anyway to make blog list just titles or have only part of the post displayed like in autoblog.com ("read more ->" button).

You have options for splitting content including:
* The More Tag
* Next Page (Pagination)
* Page Jumps
* Excerpts

In addition, there are themes that have truncated display as a "feature". The Fadtastic theme displays a single full post on the front page (which you can alter - see above) and the other entries consist only of linked titles to recent posts. The Hemingway theme displays excerpts from the two most recent posts on the front page. There are other theme specific features and anomalies but as as I don't have a link to your blog I can't see which theme you are using.
