Trying to get PayPal button to work- help?

  1. I'm trying to add a paypal donation button to my blog on one of my pages. I went to the HTML editing part of the page and pasted the code that PayPal gave me. It only ends up saving about 2 lines of the code, so nothing shows up. Am I doing something wrong? How do I fix this?

    Thanks!

  2. If you have followed the isntruction for posting a donation button then you ought not to be experiencing this problem. However, if you have attempted to set up a merchant's PayPal button the software will strip out the code as no retailing or reselling is allowed on wordpress.com blogs and they cannot be equipped for ecommerce transactions. I suggest that you work through the process and see if you experience success. See here > http://en.support.wordpress.com/paypal/

  3. Please also take note of this section:

You will see two (2) sets of code: html code Website and a link for Email. Believe it or not, you do not want the the code for websites. WordPress.com does not let users put post web forms so the website code would be stripped. You must use the code found in Link for Emails. This is the link that you want to attach to your actual button image. .... To add the donation button to your sidebar, you can follow all of the aforementioned steps and then copy the html for the image and link you added into a Text Widget.

  4. Awesome, thanks! I'm just getting started with WordPress so I'm not too familiar with how to find this info. It's working now!

  5. Great news! You're welcome. I'm happy to hear you have resolved this. :)
