In trying to use the information from Google and scheme.org to add information to recipe posts the tag attributes are being removed.
Examples:
<div itemscope itemtype="http://schema.org/Recipe"> is reduced to <div>
<li itemprop="ingredients"> is reduced to
<li>
How can I keep the attributes as defined?

itemscope and itemprop are no valid elements, which is probably when they're being stripped out.
Visit Settings -> Writing in your Dashboard and try checking or unchecking "WordPress should correct invalidly nested XHTML automatically."
The "WordPress should correct invalidly nested XHTML automatically." item is already unchecked, thanks though. Any idea on how to arrange for the attributes to be validated (and thus not removed)?
Well, they aren't valid XHTML elements. They're specific of the embedding system, and we strip out elements like that for security purposes. In this case, I'm afraid you won't be able to embed it.
That's too bad, it blocks an important SEO requirement for us. I've already looked at other options, they all get stripped out as well. Sigh - that may mean it's time for us to move on...
