Tumblr import broke comments, can you delete the database so I can start again?

  1. Your support staff have identified that when I imported my tumblr entries it broke comments and stats. I would like to start over with the same blog name and a fresh database so I can continue blogging, with working comments and stats. Can you please empty my blog of all content/delete the database?

  2. You can quickly remove your contents by deleting them in bulk.

Alternatively, we can empty the whole blog for you, but that will remove all data including posts, pages, tags, categories, comments, and uploaded files.
Once deleted, the data cannot be recovered.

If you sure you want to proceed, please reply to confirm the name of the blog you want us to empty.

  3. Hi, I have already deleted all of my posts and it did not fix the problem. My understanding of the problem is that it is with the automatic numbering of the posts that is now too high after the tumblr import. The only way I can think to fix this is by starting as if I had a fresh blog. As I don't want to register a new name I would like you to reset my blog as if it were new, please. My blog is louiseallana.wordpress.com. Thanks.

  4. I have emptied your blog as requested.

Please let us know if you need any further assistance!

  5. Thankyou for deleting the content. For future reference, this didn't fix my problem. Another member of your staff has advised me that the only way to fix my problem is to create a new blog with a new name.

  6. This should fix the problem because your blog has been completely emptied and you can start again from scratch. Feel free to import your Tumblr blog again and let us know how that goes.

  7. FYI it didn't fix my problem. After the deletion I made a new post and still couldn't comment on it. I did reimport my tumblr and I still couldn't make comments. A staffmember has told me that the problem is with the unique IDs of the post being too high after a tumblr import and emptying the blog didn't change my problem with comments and stats. I have started a new blog with a new name instead, and I have not imported from tumblr, I have imported an export of my old blog and to my relief this didn't break the comments.
