Turning off Leave a Reply
-
Does anyone know if there a way to remove “Leave a Reply” which appears after pages or posts in the Personal Theme, without altering CSS?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

All WordPress blogs by default have comments open on all Pages and Posts. Your visitors click the post tiles or the comment links or comment bubbles on the front page of the blog and they are directed to the full post appearing on it’s own page where the comment boxes appear at the end of the posts.
You can enable and disable comments on free hosted WordPress.com blogs on this page > Settings > Discussion Discussion settings is where you set up defaults for comments.
http://en.support.wordpress.com/settings/discussion-settings/You can override the default settings and enable or disable future comments on any individual post or page.

You can reveal it by clicking on Screen Options http://en.support.wordpress.com/screen-options/ on the top right corner of your Admin page, and checking the box that says Discussion so the module is included. http://en.support.wordpress.com/modules/#list-of-modules

The above site is using “Something Fishy”.
“Personal” is a Premium theme and therefore has its own forum. See here http://theme.wordpress.com/themes/personal/ and click on the Support button. If you have not yet purchased the theme, you will only be able to read posts in that forum. If you have purchased the theme for another WPcom site under another username, you will need to log in with that username first.
Generally speaking, if comments are turned off, there will be something like “Comments closed” or some such statement at the end of the post. You are correct that it would require having the Custom Design upgrade to hide the display of that statement.

Okay thanks Jennifer. I own the theme now and have the upgrade, but don’t know CSS language well enough to hide the display.
I will check out the forum for the theme.
Thank you.

You’re welcome. For CSS editing questions, please use this link https://en.forums.wordpress.com/forum/css-customization#postform so you can copy and paste your text into a thread that will appear in the CSS Forum where you will get the help you need.

You are welcome from me as well.
And if it doesn’t work out for you with the Premium theme, you have 30 days to request a refund from your “My Upgrades” in your site’s Dashboard. http://en.support.wordpress.com/my-upgrades/refunds/
