Twenty Eleven custom header image deletes itself

  1. Hi everybody,

So I've started my blog, etc. and customized things to my satisfaction. My only issue is the custom header image I'm using breaks after a matter of hours. I've deleted and re-uploaded it several times now and always with the same results.

The dimensions are exactly 1000X288 and the size is only 127kb. It's a .jpg file. So could this be the image or the theme that's at fault? Or am I making an error somewhere?

Should I make the dimensions a bit bigger and then crop it down? Or just create a new header from scratch?

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

The blog I need help with is deliaawesome.wordpress.com.

  2. That should not be happening. I have flagged this thread so it gets moved toi the Themes Forum where Themes Staff will respond to this issue.

  3. Thank you!

  4. You're welcome.

  5. I am having exactly the same issue. I designed a new header as a jpeg, it's exactly 1000x288 and it deletes itself a few hours after loading. I've reverted back to my original header, but created the new one for a reason!

I'm interested to know the answer, as this is the first glitch I've encountered in my year with WordPress.com!

    Thanks

I usually make it slightly bigger than 1000.

  7. Sorry for the trouble!

    We're looking into this.

  8. This should be fixed now.

Please try again and let us know how it goes!

  9. My headers on the Twenty Eleven theme on http://onecoolsitebloggingtips and on http://thistimethisspace.com have gone AWOL.

    1. On this time - this space I tried to set the header which was in the Media Library and it did work. It's there now.

    2. On one cool site I tried to set the header which was in the Media Library but was not succesful. I deleted it from the Media Library and uploaded it again. Now it's there but I don't know why the new "set the header" did not work on it.

@TT yes your headers are fine, up your first link doesn't work though. Need to add.com to it.

  11. Thank you!

Just reloaded my new header again. So far so good; it's still there.

    Thanks for looking into it!

Thanks. :) I'm visually challenged and make lots of errors some days and fewer on others.

  13. I replaced the header image and it's been up for a day or so without issue.

Thanks everyone for all your help!

That's good news. Thanks so much for returning and sharing it. As everyone who has posted here has resolved this, will you please enter the top of this thread and mark it as "resolved"?

  15. Will do. Thanks!

  16. Thank you. :)
