Twenty Eleven Not Displaying Summary On Home Page

  1. I have my Twenty Eleven theme set to display summary for posts on the home page but it's still showing the full content.

I know I can change it in the content.php file but is there something I can do aside from changing the code?

It's been this way as long as I can remember. In fact, it's been like this on other installs for other sites of mine. I really like the Twenty Eleven theme but can't use it with this issue.

BTW...I'm not very tech savvy(understatement). I can follow directions well but I'm no good at coding, in any language.

The blog I need help with is stargiss.wordpress.com.

  2. The Summary setting is not for the main blog page but for the RSS feeds. If you want to show just a summary on the main page, you need to use the MORE tag, the one that looks like a dotted line across a piece of paper.

  3. See here:

PS In a wordpress.com blog you don't have access to PHP files.
