Two Menus in Suburbia?

  1. I did a search and didn't see anything, so I'm not sure if this has been covered before.

Is it possible to display two menus on the left sidebar in the Suburbia theme? I looked at the main theme code and don't see anything that immediately strikes me as a place to make that sort of change.

    Any/all help appreciated. Thanks!

The blog I need help with is gigiandcompany.wordpress.com.

  2. Here's a lonk to all the forum threads on Suburbia > http://en.forums.wordpress.com/tags/suburbia

Suburbia supports five widget optional areas — four in the footer and one in the sidebar in single post and page views. The far left grid is reserved for page navigation which appears on index and archive view if they have more than one page.

  3. Yes, I know that. The left sidebar is reserved for a menu. My question is whether or not it's possible to display an additional menu there. There is another menu I would like to display in that space, not in the footer. I tried putting everything I want there in one menu, but it doesn't look right, and there are two distinctly different "sets" of menu items I want to display there.

  4. Also, in the demo of the Suburbia theme, there seems to be two menus on the left side - Pages and Categories, which are exactly the two I'd like to have.

  5. The demo version of the Suburbia theme on WordPress.com is available at http://suburbiademo.wordpress.com/

There is not a way to add a second menu to the sidebar on the left of the home page using widgets, but maybe there is another way to add things.

First, would creating a custom menu instead work for you? See http://en.support.wordpress.com/menus/
