Two questions regarding the new Minimum Theme

    I am really interested in the Minimum theme but had two questions regarding it:

    1. One of the things I dearly love about my current theme, Modularity Lite, is the homepage slideshow at the top of the page. In the custom header of Minimun, is there an option for a homepage slideshow?

    2. If I someday migrate to wordpress.org, would I be able to take Minimum with me?

    Hi there.

    1) Minimum does not have a slideshow option.
    2) Yes, but you'd need to purchase the WP.org version of the theme from the theme author.

    Though there is no built-in slideshow feature in that theme like there is in Modularity Lite you can still have slideshows in your blog.

    I am interested in the Minimum Theme as well. I did not see a film uploaded on the example. Is it possible to embed a film on that blog theme or even upload a film if you buy space?

    What do you mean by "film"? We can embed videos in post and on pages and even in some cases in sidebars on all themes here at WordPress.com. There is also a videopress upgrade for those who wish to display their own videos.

    Thank you. I just was not sure since I didn't see an example on the Minimum theme. In addition, I have a DVD coming from an organization with permission to use and I was thinking of purchasing the Minimum theme. I am wondering if I would be able to upload the film on that DVD to the blog by purchasing the videopress upgrade. Would I have to have the DVD converted somehow? I guess this is a complicated question. Thanks for your response.

    Hi, I would like to use the Minimum theme, but am wondering if the secondary colour used can be changed from teal to orange?

    re: the DVD
    These are the accepted file types. You will definitely need to convert it to an acceptable format. There is software out there for converting from DVD to an accepted format. Also if you use an external video site, such as YouTube or Google Video to actually host it, the quality may be better and they are dedicated to streaming such videos. You would then only need to embed the video into your blog.

    Thank you very much for all of your help. I really appreciate it. I will look into it and find the best way to do this. I wonder if it would be less expensive or easier if I were uploading it to a website or if it is the exact same process? That is my last question. Thank you.

    I am also interested in the MINIMUM theme, but I was just wondering if all the files, etc. that I have on my blog will be automatically transferred if I activate this new theme?

    identitysolutions, yep. All your content will still be in place. The only thing that will change will be the look (that's the theme).
