Type size shift for entire blog!!!

  1. All of the typing on my page, within my posts has become gnat small. I am legally blind and can't see it, however, no one else can either. This happened after 12 noon eastern time, today Aug. 5, 2012. It shouldn't be this difficult to find a help button either. Feeling very angry and frustrated that years of my work is now showing teeny tiny font!
    Please help.

  2. I am visually challenged too and I can read the font on the ChaoticSoul theme. Did you know that all of us can change the font size and either increase or decrease it on any site we view on the internet very easily? See here > http://onecoolsitebloggingtips.com/2010/01/19/how-to-change-font-text-size-in-your-browser/

When it comes to chnaging font size in any theme this is not a cake walk at WordPress.com. The easiest course of action is to cgoose a theme that has the font size you want.

These are 3 ways to change fonts on wordpress.com blogs.

    (1) Changing font families, colors and size in text in posts or pages either post by post or page by page by coding into the HTML editor. http://en.support.wordpress.com/editors/font-size-color/

    (2) Changing font colors in text in posts or pages either post by post or page by page using the #4 icon (Select text color – change the text color) in Row 2 the Visual editor. http://en.support.wordpress.com/visual-editor/#row-2

    (3) Changing all font families, colors and sizes throughout the whole blog by purchasing an annually renewable Custom Design upgrade and using Typekit Fonts with Staff support. http://en.support.wordpress.com/custom-design/

Note: A few themes do provide for changing font color in the Blog Title and/or optional Tagline and/or links. http://wpbtips.wordpress.com/2009/03/24/color-customisable-themes/ In the majority of themes font changes to font families, colors and size in the blog title, tagline, menu, post titles, page titles, categories and tags, widget headings, comments, and links cannot be done without CSS editing.

  3. P.S. The reason I would never use the ChaoticSoul theme is because the font size is so small. To select another theme you can look here > http://theme.wordpress.com/

  4. Thank you! I have been using the theme for years! The font issue just began after noon today. I DID locate within Firefox a way to adjust the font size and the Font itself. I have NO way of knowing if there is a temporary WP glitch of if my son somehow got into the settings and altered it. Though you probably do not know that I shouted and ranted, I did. Normally I would check me before asking for help. However I'm topped out with it. Writing is my only form of expression. My own computer has been dead for ages and I'm just very restricted, everything I need, even photography software is on it. I just can't stomach no longer being able to read what I've spent years writing.

I wonder if, in my frustration, that you are telling me that the normal font for this theme is no larger than tag font. That would mean that my own computer settings have been allowing me to view it as I have been, and something changed on my end. Thanks for time!

  5. You sound like me. Like you I'm fiercely independent and do not ask for help until I have exhausted all other options.

The normal font sizes in this ChaoticSoul theme are found here > https://wpcom-themes.svn.automattic.com/chaoticsoul/style.css but I struggle to read as it is so I don't try to read CSS stylesheets or source code. As you think the font sizes have become smaller I'm flagging this thread for a response from Themes Staff. If they say they haven't changed the font sizes then you will need to speak to your son. However, do note that it's the weekend and I don't expect Staff to answer soon.

  6. Thanks! I'll wait to hear from them! And glare at my son, it'll be fun!

  7. May I suggest that you "interview" your son? No one touchs my computer for any reason ever, without my permission, lest they invoke my wrath, which is formidable when unleashed. :D

  8. Howdy elisasspot,

I'm sorry that it took us so long to respond to your question.

Looking through the change logs of ChaoticSoul, I could not find a change to the Theme between June 30th and September 4th.

Feel free to open a new thread if you have any other question.
