Unable to open any WordPress site

  1. Hi everyone,
I've run into some trouble. I've been using WordPress as a blogger for several years, but today I suddenly can't load any site connected to WordPress from my PC. The sites (present site included) get "done, but with errors" and are not shown properly. I've tried three different browsers (FireFox, Explorer, and Chrome), but it's the same on all of them. All other sites are opened without any problems.

Has anyone had any similar experiences? And perhaps a suggestion as to what I should do from here? I should add that I've tried scanning for vira, but nothing came up.

Thankful for any help you might provide,
    Marie

The blog I need help with is atthelighthouse.wordpress.com.

  2. Make your name clickable or put a blog link here

  3. Please post an active link starting with http:// to the blog in question. Have you tried browser troubleshooting by clearing your browser cache and cookies? You can upgrade any outdated browser version here.

You can use this link to see if your Flash is up to date.
If it’s not up to date then this is where to download and install the latest version of Flash.

How are you connecting to the internet and to WordPress.com? The way you connect to the internet (mobile, satellite, DSL, dial-up) and to your blog, and how many proxy server jumps etc. it takes to connect can cause problems. There maybe be problems with your ISP and/or with the proxy servers.

Sometimes operating system and/or security system updates can cause problems so check for known issues. When you make adjustments to your browser settings — changing privacy settings, deleting cookies or increasing security — you will need to close your window and restart the browser before those new settings become effective.

  4. I apologize, I didn't realize that my blog name in my profile wasn't clickable. (It's http://www.atthelighthouse.wordpress.com). For some reason everything was suddenly working again before I was able to try out timethief's advice. I'm sorry if I've wasted your time, and am very grateful for your help, which will no doubt be useful to me should the same problem occur again.

    Thank you again,
    Marie

  5. ok, make your name clickable in dashboard

  6. @atthelighthouse
Not to worry. Here's how to link your blog to your username. Dashboard -> Users -> Personal Settings -> then scroll down to Account Details. Then scroll down to where it says ‘Website‘ select the URL for your primary wordpress.com blog and then save changes.

Now every time you sign into the forum we can all click on your username and your blog will be linked to it. And every time you leave a comment on a blog your username can be likewise clicked and your blog can be instantly located.
    Happy blogging! :)
