  1. Hello,

I accidently deleted my blog http://mercatusetius.wordpress.com. I'd like to choose the same address again, the blog was empty so I don't need any posts back. I only want to use the URL again.

    Thank you and best regards,

    Rainer Grossmann

The blog I need help with is mercatusetius.wordpress.de.

  2. I'm sorry but that's not possible. Note there are 3 warnings and a verification link in an email required to delete a blog. That is because deleted blog URLs are not recycled.

You can register another blog with a similar name. http://en.support.wordpress.com/register-a-blog/

Or you can register a domain vis a domain mapping upgrade and it will not matter what the underlying .wordpress.com address is.

  3. Thanks for the answer. I know that there have been a lot of warnings. ;) I saw other posts where the WordPress team allowed to use an URL again and thought maybe we can make an exception... I deleted it about 2 hours ago.

    Best,

    Rainer

  4. Oh really? If you have seen any exceptions that weren't made for Staff members then please provide the links to wherever you say you saw them. Why? Because I have been answering questions here over 6 years as a Volunteer and have invested tonnes of my time into this. So if any exceptions are going to be made, then I would like to have my request to upend the policy and accommodate me to be moved to the very top of the list.

  5. The blog in question was opened with an old account that the person asking for help was able to access (different email account) - no blogs were deleted - the "deleted" or not found refer to the Hello World first Post that comes with a blog - many people delete that Post then get freaked out when they get a "Not Found" error

  6. OK! I see that it's definitely not possible. Thanks for your support. Maybe I'll get a domain for the blog.

    Best,

    Rainer
