   Is there a way to put your blog under construction, whilst you're changing your site? Just wondering.

   The blog I need help with is laplumenoire.wordpress.com.

   You can set your blog to private from Settings -> Privacy in your Dashboard.

   This will allow only you (and a set of WordPress.com users that you choose) to access your blog.

   You could also just create a static page with no links, disable your menu, and leave your widgets in the 'save for later' box while you mess with them.
