Those are the ads that WP.com puts on our blogs in order to cover the hosting costs. If you don't like them, you can get the No Ads upgrade.

Thanks so very much! I just wanted to make sure I knew where it was coming from. Gee, I have enough traffic to be worth an ad! I'll probably check into the upgrade - thanks.
