unwanted ads on my blog

  1. Hey I embeded a youtube video yesterday and had problems... specifically my most recent post contains no title.

Then today when I log on there is a video for web cam teens ad on my blog I use for my real estate work.

Can anyone explain why the ads are showing up, and more importantly get rid of them??

The blog I need help with is savvyinsavannah.wordpress.com.

  2. WordPress.com has been running advertising on our free hosted blogs since 2006. Many bloggers do not know this because despite the fact they ticked the box required to get a free blog, they did not read the ToS. Many also do not read features page, or advertising entry in the support documents after registering their username and blog(s). Also note that as the ads do not display to us when we are logged in, and as many use browsers with ad blockers when logged out, they may not realize they are there at all. The only way to get rid of all advertising on our free hosted WordPress.com blogs is to purchase an annually renewable No-Ads upgrade.

  3. Thanks.

  4. You're welcome.

  5. Riddle me this...

I just purchased NOADS upgrade...and there are still ads. I can't have anything on here and that is what I paid for... to have no ads. This blog is used for my business.

    Any insight?

  6. What do the ads look like? Are they "word ads" i.e. words that are links to ads? If so you probably have a problem with your browser adding the ads - the no ads should stop the ads at once

  7. You just purchased it moments ago and I assume that the ads won't disappear instantly. I would log out of WordPress.com and clear my browser cache and cookies so I coudn't be viewing a cached copy. Then I would wait for an hour reboot my computer and log in again.

  8. @auxclass
    They are video ads.

  9. Actually they are like banner ads.... and video ads?

    Like fubar.com

    University of Phoenix

I went to my page, not logged in as a blog viewer on Chrome and Firefox and the ads are popping up on both.

    :(

Could it have anything to do with using a video from youtube yesterday? This has never happened and I've been using this blog since 2009.

  10. Ok. I will try to clear cookies and check back later and let you know what happens.

    Thanks for your help!!
