Unwanted changes in format

    Hello

I have noticed that if I write a blog over 1000 words I start to have problems with the formatting. I am using the Titan theme.

    I have two main problems:
    1. I create spaces between paragraphs in the edited version and when it is published there is no spaces. Whatever I try to do to correct this does not work.
    2. Towards the end of the entry, the paragraphs appear more indented then when I want them and I can't move them back to normal

    My questions are:

    1. Is this a phenomenon of writing longer blogs
    2. What, if anything, can I do about it

Many thanks in advance for your replies

The blog I need help with is conversationswithdonmachingaandotherbeings.wordpress.com.

  2. Are you writing directly into the post box, or are you copy/pasting, perhaps from Word?

It sounds like you have HTML errors in your blog. See these instructions for fixing it and preventing this from getting worse. http://wpbtips.wordpress.com/2012/05/19/sidebar-at-the-bottom-and-related-issues/

    Thanks for your reply.

I've learned that copying and pasting from Word is not advisable as it causes problems with formatting on WordPress.com, especially if you do anything more complicated than pure text

I looked quickly at the link you sent which might be helpful - though it is mainly focused on sidebar issues, it does refer to general formatting issues and it looks like the problem could be as defined here in the link:

If a solitary div tag is accidentally introduced somewhere in a post or in a text widget, the structure of the page gets messed up from that point on. In many themes this results in the sidebar dropping to the bottom; in some themes it results in a different layout issue (such as posts in the sidebar, or posts losing their normal layout or chronological order, or invisible posts, or messed background).

So you don't think its anything to do with the length of blogs?

  4. The length of a Post or Page should not affect the formatting - do try the advice at the link @raincoaster gave you above - sometimes lots of editing can induce a problem if you delete a formatting tag - note that you can't see the formatting tags in the visual editor but you can zap or delete them once in a while

Thanks for the comment above. At least I know it's not to do with the length of the post but I guess the longer the post the more chance you cam inadvertently induce a problem.
