UPGRADE

  1. I'm thinking of upgrading to WordPress premium with the $79 bundle now being offered. But I have some questions before deciding. My current package is not due for renewal till November - can I upgrade now anyway. And I own a domain name - will mapping to that domain affect podcast feeds operating from my WordPress blog?

    Hello,

    It looks like you purchased the domain mapping upgrade today. That upgrade will not affect your existing upgrade.

    Your podcast feeds should also be unaffected. Anyone attempting to access http://rdontheroad.wordpress.com/feed/ will be redirected to http://mojowire.net.au/feed/

    Please let me know if you have any other questions.

    Seems OK so far. Only my email has stopped working and my domain provider isn't being very helpful. Will keep at them

    Have got the MX info from my domain provider and also what they callled the mail A record which is a numerical IP address. Have put them both in but no success. I've probably not entered it right. Any thoughts?

If you can post the records you have recieved from your mail host as well as what you have put in already someone can take a look and make a suggestion, the staff are better at the records than I am and they usually check back in the threads they have helped with to make sure things are working correctly.

    You can use the "quote" box at the top of the text entry area here to help keep things straight - one record per line also helps

  8. Still not working. Mail host gave me MX details as mail.domainname.net.au but it should have a number in front of it and I'm not sure what number to put
    And they gave me what they called a mail A record which is a numerical IP address. I tried putting A at the start of the line and then the IP number but it needs a word in front of it - not sure what to put. All suggestions welcome
    I had the MX on the first line and the A details on 2nd line

    I'm only guessing, because I cannot tell for sure without knowing the exact records they asked you to provide, but you'll want to enter something like this from your dashboard:

    A mail ##.##.##.##
    MX 10 mail.mojowire.net.au.

    Where ##.##.##.## is the IP address they provided you.

    If that doesn't work, if you post the exact records they told you to add, I can take another look.

  10. thanks. Am trying now. Problem has been the help line at my domain provider was a bit vague with some of the details. Hopefully this will work. It can take a few hours to reset
