Upgrade failure

  1. I just received an email notification that my WordPress subscription would expire in a month and that the automatic renewal had failed. I tried renewing online as directed. I unchecked the box to retain my credit card information, and pressed the upgrade button. There was no confirmation that the upgrade had gone through, and I was returned to the original expiration notification. When I checked the upgrade status on the Store screen, I saw that the status is still "expiring." What gives?

The blog I need help with is dominicmeiman.com.

  2. You must be logged in as Admin http://en.support.wordpress.com/user-roles/#administrator under the exact same username account that registered the blog and purchased the upgrade to access the blog's dashboard and navigate to > Store > My Upgrades to renew.

  3. It sounds like something has gone wrong so I'll tag this thread for a Staff follow-up. Please subscribe to the thread so you are notified when they respond and please be patient while waiting.

  4. Thanks for your help timethief. I tried again as you suggested, but had another failure. Turns out I had neglected to enter my zipcode, but this time I noticed the error notification at the top of the upgrade screen. After I entered my zipcode, the upgrade went through just fine. Perhaps painting errors in red next to the box where the error occurred as some other websites do is a more effective way of calling attention to user input error. The red vertical bar next to the error message at the top of the screen is easy to miss.

  5. Hello again,
I'm so glad your were successful when you tried again. I'm leaving the tag for Staff up as they may want to update the support doc given what you posted. Happy blogging.

  6. @dominicanthonymeiman-

Thank you for the suggestion! I was able to see what you were referring to and I could definitely see many of our users also experiencing the same issue.

I have reported this to our developers for review and suggested highlighting the missing field.

Let me know if you have any questions with this!

  7. Thanks Grace.
