Would REALLY love a progress bar when uploading. I've got no idea if it's going through or not!

Are your referring to uploading images or media? I don't need a progress bar as all uploads of images and media I have done took place in short order ie. in seconds flat.
Which browser and version of it are your using please? Have you tried any troubleshooting? See here > Clearing cache and cookies > http://en.support.wordpress.com/browser-issues/#clear-your-cache-and-cookies
