Uploading a Non Youtube Video

    Hi,
    I would like to upload a video from Texas Instruments site (which they invite people to share) onto a blog post, but I cannot get this to work.
    I downloaded the video via "real player" then tried uploading it from my computer. WordPress says that it can't upload it for security reasons. I don't know what the URL is from the website for this particular video. The video I want to put in a post is in the upper right hand corner of this website http://www.ti.com/ww/en/simplelink/
    Anyway, I feel very restricted to just youtube videos and am missing out on posting other excellent videos--because I don't know how.

    Hello Melissa,

    To have the ability to upload videos from your computer you would first need to purchase the VidePress upgrade via the cart icon on the left navigation bar in your blogs dashboard

    Anyway, I feel very restricted to just youtube videos and am missing out on posting other excellent videos--because I don't know how.

    We currently support embedding videos from YouTube, Vimeo, Flickr, DailyMotion, Viddler, Blip.tv, TED Talks, and Videolog. If the service is not listed, you can give Vodpod a try, as it allows you to embed videos from thousands of different sites and services. Source link → Videos documentation

    Vodpod sounds like it might work, but it won't drag to my toolbar. I drag it but it doesn't go anywhere. I have Firefox. . .

    Don't drag it to your toolbar. Go to the vodpod site, set up an account, click Upload Video, and paste the embed code in there. Then Vodpod will give you a new embed code you can use to add the video to your blog here.
