I want to upload multiple posts with photos and captions and titles simultaneously without having to open individual posts. I know it can be done because I know reporters who are doing it at work. But can it be done in WordPress?

No. You can upload multiple posts, but you do have to open Post New for each one. Otherwise, presumably you'd need multiple mobile devices uploading simultaneously.
