  2. Hi there,
Too bad you failed to describe exactly what your computing environment is, which process you were using, and exactly what you experienced, as I can't narrow this down without specifics.

Would you please try troubleshooting and report back to us?

If you are not running one of the browsers and versions listed at http://browsehappy.com/ please try upgrading or switching first.

If you are using an IE browser in compatibility mode please disable that mode. http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/1196-internet-explorer-compatibility-view-turn-off.html

If you are running one of the browsers and versions listed at http://browsehappy.com/

    (1) Try clearing your browser’s cache http://www.google.com/support/accounts/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=32050
If applicable see here for instructions on how to clear the cache for Chrome and Safari on the iPad:

    (3) Disable all browser extensions or add-ons temporarily.

    (4) Try enabling HTTPS: http://en.support.wordpress.com/https/

Add both *.wordpress.com and *.wp.com to your list of trusted sites under the Security tab. Make sure to uncheck the box for “Require server verification (https:) for all sites in this zone.” http://en.support.wordpress.com/https/#frequently-asked-questions

    (5) These are the accepted file types:

If you are not successful let us know:
    (a) How you are connecting to the internet and to WordPress.com.
    (b) Exactly which browser (and version of it) you’re using by checking here if necessary http://www.whatbrowser.org/

It does not matter what platform I am using as this is an intermitent problem. Sometimes i can upload, sometimes I cannot. It's clearly something with WordPress.

  4. Clearly? How can that be if I don't have the same issue?

The way we solve issues is by duplicating your set up. Please be clear on the fact that we cannot help unless or until you work through what I posted and provide your details.

Mobil safari7 on my iPad and I had the same problem at home with my PC which is IE.

I was finally able to load the photos....so, the question is, why does it happen sometimes, and not others, given that nothing has changed with the device(s) I am using?

  6. It's weird for sure and I tagged this thread for Staff to take a close look at it.

  7. Hi there,

We have some tips for troubleshooting image uploads here: Troubleshooting Images

Intermittent issues like you describe are most likely an issue with the connection between your device and WordPress.com. Sometimes this can be improved by clearing your browser's cache. It could also be an issue with your Internet Service Provider — you can check this by trying to upload images from a different location to see if it's more consistent.

If you run into a situation where, no matter what you do, you can't upload your images, please let me know. We can take some additional steps to test your connection to WordPress.com and see if we can identify where the problem is.
