   I downloaded a WP theme from another website and am unable to upload it - can anyone help?

   Not really

   You are limited to the 150++ themes that you can choose from in your Dashboard - uploading themes is not allowed on WordPress.COM for security, reliability and functionality reasons.

   I am very disappointed in this. I paid for a few additional features and a domain for my wife so that she could start a blog without realizing that i cannot have the flexibility to choose and manage my own theme from outside the WP selections.

   YOu can ask for refunds, if it's within the time period. Each upgrade at WP.com applies only specifically to what it says.

   I would go back to wherever you purchased that theme and request a refund as raincoaster as suggested.
