Beginning this morning I'm unable to insert or upload a picture by pushing on the appropriate symbols on the new post page. Also, screen options and help buttons do not respond. Thanks for your help.

Log out of wordpress, clear your browser cache and cookies, restart your browser and try again.
Also, have you tried a different browser?
Tried those things. On the new post page most of the buttons are not functioning when pressed. The only ones that seem to be working are the ones inside the blue box related to formatting (bold, underline, etc.) The upload/insert symbols above, the add tags, scheduling, etc. do nothing when pressed. As I said earlier, everything has worked flawlessly for over two years, I've made no recent changes other than to post 1-3 times a days, and this problem started yesterday morning.
If no one else chimes in, how would I go about contacting WordPress or are the forums my only option?

If that doesn't work you will have to file a support ticket with Staff inacluding all your details re: operating system, browser your tried, and what happened. Contact Staff link > http://en.support.wordpress.com/contact/
