user friendly, my book on my blog

  1. I am wondering if this is the best way to post my book on my blog. I want it user friendly. Can you get to my book, the content and the chapters? Is there a better way to do this?

Also, I want the SEO to find the key words "Post-traumatic stress disorder". Will the SEO find it on Pages? or just posts? I plan on posting an article about the book under Posts.

Lastly, is wordpress like Face Book where my content is "non-exclusive and transferable, etc." ?

The blog I need help with is advocateofhope.wordpress.com.

  2. Blogs are essentially a reverse chronological order publishing tool and you cannot change this order on a free hosted WordPress.com blog.

Readers arrive to read our most recent posts. In the case of my blog that means they don't have to slog through over 800 posts to locate the most recent one.

See here for the option of creating a book-like structure > http://en.support.wordpress.com/write-a-book/ Perhaps that will work for you.

You could use a sticky post as an index page > http://en.support.wordpress.com/posts/post-visibility/#sticky-posts

  3. Posts are very attractive search engines. Pages are not. WordPress.com SEO is very good and there is no need for any SEO the plugin. If you had two identical sites, one hosted here and one self-hosted using that same plugin, the site hosted here would have better SEO than the self-hosted site. WordPress.com has huge SEO and you get the benefit of that by having your site as a "subdomain" here.

    You own your content.

There are several steps that you can take in order to prevent your material from being used in an unauthorized manner which are explained in this support doc. http://en.support.wordpress.com/prevent-content-theft/

  5. Thank you, TT. I was hoping you would answer.

  6. You're welcome, Cyndi and best wishes. :)
