user name not showing up on posts

  1. we just recently changed themes from Rounded to Greenery. On Rounded each post showed the author's name at the top of the post, but on Greenery it does not. Is there somewhere that I can change to show each author?

  2. This "show author" feature is theme dependent. And it is not a feature on the Greenery theme. If you are the only author this shouldn't be an issue. However, if you are not then I do have a suggestion and two work-arounds to offer.

    (1) Choose a theme that displays "authors". Note that there are theme reviews here http://engtech.wordpress.com/tools/wordpress/wordpress-theme-reviews/

    (2) Or if the theme does not do this and you want to keep it then create a category Called "Authors" as a "parent" category and then create sub-categores "children" for each author's name under the parent Category "Authors". When each author posts they simply assign the Author sub-category as appropriate.

    (3) Or have each author include a byline in the posts they create.

  3. How difficult would it be to edit the CSS so that the Username is added to a post? I'd also like to add the user's avatar to each post. I know HTML, but have just started futzing with CSS.

  4. CSS doesn't have anything to do with it. The author information is produced by the underlying PHP files and those we don't have access to since it would be a security risk and also we're on a shared environment here at wp.com.
